Synopsis: Five prisoners march before a Judge, each asking for release because they didn't know they broke the law, they "only said what they saw". Each warn the Judge of something big and scary coming, but the Judge won't listen. Who's right - the prisoners or the Judge?Review: Cute and witty, this is a pleasant read. The syntax is reminiscent of Dr. Seuss, with rhymes and word play. The illustrations have a clever watercolor feel that I'm sure children will like. I admit I'm uncertain why it's considered such a classic. It's good, but not that good. Children will enjoy it, but I doubt it will be any one's favorite.
